Description
Are you ready to learn all about text structures in a way that's engaging, rigorous, and ensures students understand? This activity is the perfect way to introduce text structures and have students apply concepts and skills (cause and effect, compare and contrast) in an approachable way.
What's included in this Text Structures resource?
- 10 topics for student-generated text structure sentences
- 10 topics with sentences in each structure for students to identify (*Answer Key available for this version!*)
- DIGITAL, Google Slides, version
That's 20 printable activities in all!
Please take a peek at the PREVIEW for a visual look at both activities!
How should I use these text structures activities?
I recommend using the pre-made sentences first and having students identify keywords and describe how the information was presented. For the student-generated text structure sentences, I love to make it a carousel activity, where students rotate through multiple pages and each write ONE sentence about the topic using the given structure.
You can print each on an individual page or make them into a booklet for students to practice.
