What’s the Point of Math? I can already tell this book is going to be on repeat in my classroom this year. It’s FULL of such fun math connections. I wanted students to start the year exploring it, so I selected a few pages that dive into other math “languages.” It was a blast.

Objectives Microphone: I wasn’t sure if kids would love this or think it was silly, but I can confirm they’re obsessed.

Six Hat Thinking with The Week Junior: I usually start Six Hat Thinking with a fiction book, but this year I did a nonfiction article, and it was AWESOME!
Skill of the Day: Every student is going to have some skill gaps coming back into the school year. I’m starting the year by addressing them with this spiral review!

Flip 7 Math Game: This game is AMAZING for mental math, computation, and probability. I taught it to my 4th and 5th graders, and I am pretty sure they’ll never stop begging to play.
