How Does This Math Project Work?
Students will plan and ‘visit’ 5 destinations around the world and use their math skills to participate in local holiday traditions! This is a great activity to spark conversation about holiday traditions around the world!
This engaging Holidays Around the World Math Project provides students with rigorous and engaging practice of the following math concepts:
Version One (3rd and 4th Grades)
- Elapsed Time
- Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers
Version Two (5th Grade)
- Elapsed Time
- Decimal Operations (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying)
- Powers of Ten

- Printable Holidays Around the World Project – Version 2 (for 5th Grades)
- A DIGITAL, Google Slides version of both projects
Please Note: There is only an answer key available for two pages as student answers will vary depending on which food/souvenirs/activities they choose to participate in on each stop of the journey.
