I’ve got to share one of my absolute favorite mo

I’ve got to share one of my absolute favorite morning meetings connection activities—it’s super easy to set up and seriously one of the most meaningful things I’ve done with my students. I’ve been doing this for years and LOVE the reflections that come from it. 💕💕
 ✨ I pulled a bunch of picture books and spread them out for students to look through. The twist? They weren’t picking a book to read—they were picking a cover and title that represented them somehow. Maybe how they were feeling, or something about their personality.

The things they shared? I was not ready. I almost cried—not because it was sad, but because their answers were so thoughtful and real. It honestly blew me away.

Hiiii 👋 It’s been a while, and I’m popping in on this Sunday to remind you that your plans this week don’t have to be elaborate to be engaging!

I’ve used this same set of Equivalent Fractions Task Cards for almost 8 years, and the way I implement them is always different. This year, I threw some point values on the back, and we had an awesome time playing a quiz show style game! Last year, I put them on chart paper and had student teams complete them in a carousel style activity. The year before that, I hung them up around the room to create a scavenger hunt! Total engagement each and every time. ❤️

Love Note Literacy was a HIT today! ❤️💕 We

Love Note Literacy was a HIT today! ❤️💕 We began by reading some funny love notes, annotating them, and picking out different parts of the writing. Then, they set off to write their own letter to hand sanitizer from the perspective of a tissue. We were laughing so hard at the letters, and they were so creative! I’ve been doing this for the last 14 years, and the results are 💖 impeccable 💖 every year! Drop a comment below, and I’ll send the info your way!

This sweet book is about a young scientist who creates new plants that help people solve problems…. Until he comes across one person he just can’t seem to help. With a little creativity and a lot of love, he dives headfirst into solving the problem! It’s a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ book, and my students LOVED it. It’s great for Valentine’s Day, but you can use it any time.

❤️ After we were done reading, I had each student think of a person they know and a problem they could solve for that person. They had five minutes and a jar of play dough to design a plant that would help that person.

❤️💕 The problems/solutions they came up with were more thoughtful than I could have ever dreamed. I was moved to tears by several of them, and I highly recommend taking 15 minutes out of your day next week to do this!

💡 While everything inside can be used with most students in any classroom, I often use them with my GT or high-achieving students.

🌈 I am a firm believer that students who have mastered material should have DIFFERENT work, not just MORE work.

👉That means when students have shown mastery of a skill, we don’t need to make them do more of the same — Instead, we need to have something MEANINGFUL ready for them that either advances or enriches their learning and thinking!

📝 Combined with differentiated class work and appropriate enrichment programs, the content within enrichment binders is rigorous and meaningful and will challenge and advance them academically while still remaining SUPER engaging.
