Valentine’s Day Language Arts Reading Activities

Love Note Literacy is a fun and rigorous way to meet common core literacy standards and celebrate Valentine's Day in upper elementary. These language arts activities will keep students engaged as they read funny ‘love notes' to various classroom people and objects.

This fun packet includes three humorous ‘love letters' with four literacy activity pages for each! There are 3 pages of love letters and 12 pages of corresponding activities in total).

After each funny Valentine's love letter are four ELA activities:

  • Activity #1 – an editing task
  • Activity #2 – a review of Common Core Language Arts & Reading Skills in relation to the letter
  • Activity #3 – a Writing Prompt that relates to the original love letter
  • Activity #4- Word Work/Vocabulary Study

These language arts activities are perfect for test prep or review with a fun, “holiday-ish” theme that will appeal to both boys and girls!

This language arts activity also includes a DIGITAL, Google Slides version that can be used in Google Classroom for distance learning.
