Are you ready to explore text structures in a new way? You NEED this text structure project! Engage your students in rigorous informational text structure practice with this racing-themed reading project!
This Resource Includes:
→15 pages of incredibly high-interest, racing-themed text structure practice
→Informational Text Structures Poster with Examples, Graphic Organizers, etc.
→Student Project Cover Pages
→Fun record-keeping component as students “race” through the project
→DIGITAL ACCESS via Google Slides
*Bonus: I have also incorporated text features practice into several of the pages!
The following text structures are addressed in this project: Description, Compare & Contrast, Cause & Effect, Problem & Solution, Order & Sequence
I have designed this project to challenge your students to move beyond simply identifying which text structure a paragraph is written in. This project challenges them to answer comprehension questions based on the text structures, complete graphic organizers using information from paragraphs, generate their own paragraphs using information from graphic organizers, and so much more. The best part? Your students will be having so much fun that they won't even realize how much rigorous content they are working with!
Pages print beautifully in color or black & white.
This project is text-heavy and is best-suited for grades 4+. You can mix and match the pages that work best for your classroom and students!
Have fun with this project! You can have students complete the sections in centers, as a whole class, or in small groups. Get creative and hang up racing flags around your room!
