Regions of the United States Math Project

How Does This Explore America Math Project Work?
Students will plan and ‘visit’ 9 cities across the five regions of the United States with a $2,500 budget. They must carefully spend their money and keep close track of their budget so they don’t go over.

This engaging Exploring America Math Project provides students with rigorous and engaging practice of the following math concepts:

Version One (3rd and 4th Grades)

  • Elapsed Time
  • Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers

Version Two (5th Grade)

  • Elapsed Time
  • Decimal Operations (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying)
  • Powers of Ten
