Get ready to learn about prefixes! Your students will be so engaged with practicing identifying and determining the meaning of common prefixes using these DIFFERENTIATED prefixes half-page task cards.

These 16 half-page task cards each have two groups of sentences that use a common prefix. These task cards have been specially designed to encourage critical thinking about common prefixes and to encourage students to use context clues to determine the meanings of common prefixes.

There are two differentiated options for use.

•No underlining: Students must identify the common prefix that fills in the blank for two words.

•Underlining: The prefixes are underlined, and students must use context clues to determine the meaning of the prefix.

These task cards also have a DIGITAL version in Google Slides. There is one card per slide, so you can assign as many or as few at a time as you'd like.

Note: These are not your typical multiple-choice task cards! They have been designed to encourage critical thinking and to help you teach, reinforce, and enrich your prefixes unit at a higher level. These are best suited for grades 4+.
