Dialogue Game

Engage your students in practicing creating and identifying dialogue with this incredible Topple Blocks™ game! Inspired by Hope King's use of Jenga games in the classroom, students will use colored Jenga/Topple Blocks™ to practice their language skills. Each colored block has six questions. When a student pulls a certain color, their entire team must answer a question that corresponds to the color.

Which Dialogue Skills are covered in this Topple Blocks™ game?

  • Annotate written dialogue sentences: underline parts that are spoken, circle dialogue tags, and cross out speakers
  • Identify dialogue with correct punctuation
  • Rewrite sentences with the tag at the beginning of the dialogue
  • Write a sentence using dialogue given a specific dialogue tag
  • Edit dialogue for proper punctuation and capitalization
  • Create a dialogue sentence based on a cartoon image

An answer key is also included – perfect for having your students self-check as they play this fun Dialogue game!
