Context Clues Dictionary Task Cards | Google

Engage your students in learning about using context clues in conjunction with the dictionary with these 32 task cards! Each card includes a sentence with an underlined word as well as a “dictionary” entry for the specified word. Students must use context clues from the sentence to determine which definition best fits the word.

This resource also includes DIGITAL ACCESS via Google Forms.

I created these task cards after realizing that my students were pros at looking up words in the dictionary, but less than stellar at determining which meaning best fit the word they were looking up. They needed a way to combine the skill of using context clues with using a dictionary to find the specific definition.

These task cards are perfect for small groups, warm ups, literacy centers, TEST PREP, homework, and more!
